The BMP-3F for the Philippines
Negotiations are under way for the exportation of Russian BMP-3F armored infantry fighting vehicles for the Philippines.
During the Eurosatory exposition, Igor Sevastimine, the assistant director of Rosoboronexport, declared that negotiations were under way for the exportation of Russian BMP-3F armored infantry fighting vehicles for the Philippines, who are looking to reinforce their costal units.
Other than unmatched fire power for its class, the BMP-3 has excellent water crossing capabilities. The BMP-3F is optimized for debarkation missions. Since 2010, Indonesia, southern neighbor of the Philippines, has acquired from Russia BMP-3F’s for their marine infantry units.
