M3 Bradley
The American armored reconnaissance vehicle M3 Bradley
The M3 Bradley is an American tracked armored reconnaissance vehicle. It was developed in the 70’s by FMC, renamed in 1994 United Defense, today part of BAE Systems Land and Armaments. The M2 Bradley entered into service in 1981.
The M3 Bradley is developed in parallel to the M2 Bradley version destined for infantry units. Both have the same base for weapons and mechanics. The M3 is differentiated by equipment dedicated to recon missions.
The M3 Bradley receives a supplement of 25mm munitions and anti-tank missiles compared to the M2 to gain in autonomy in combat and to operate a long way from other support groups. The M3 Bradley has undergone several modernization campaigns with the models M3A1, M3A2, M3A3.
