     On June 26, 2014, the Russian shipbuilder Admiralty Shipyards from St. Petersburg has successfully realized the launch of the B-237 diesel-electric submarine “Rostov-on-Don” from the 636.3 project, Improved Kilo class in NATO terms. It is the second unit launched that is destined for the Russian Navy fleet present in the Black Sea.

     A total of six similar submarines will be built by Admiralty Shipyards. The first submarine in the series, the B-261 Novorossiisk, was launched in October of 2013. It is actually in the final stages of navigational testing. At the horizon 2020, the Russian fleet in the Black Sea will be fully equipped with the necessary submarines and will be attached to the Novorossiisk naval port.
